Fares Jammal and Wissam Moubarak are childhood friends. The former has grown to be a renowned photographer and the latter a multidisciplinary architect. When both joined forces, it was a natural quest to tackle nostalgia and remembrance, and create a works that embodied their common and complementary skills and visions.
While Jammal was revealing his series of photographs in the dark room, Moubarak was there to swipe onto the negative image his brush strokes. The outcome was an eerie monochromatic plasticity, breaking the rules of time, taking still photography into an other dimension.
Photographer Fares Jammal has his studios in Dubai and Beirut, where he has his own permanent art gallery exhibiting his works. Creative designer and architect Wissam Moubarak is a partner in Hawini, a Lebanese product-design firm. Moubarak has participated in many large-scale product design creations and exhibitions.
